The Campsite

Come and stay at our small, family run campsite

We’re not like the big commercial sites, there’s plenty of space and not too many rules. All we ask is that you respect other campers and the countryside. We want our campers to enjoy the peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of life.

Ballidon Moor Farm campsite is a place to relax, unwind and enjoy the Peak District hills, dales and trails. It is the perfect place for walkers and cyclists with the High Peak Trail just 1 mile up the road. We are central for Ashbourne, Bakewell, Matlock, Buxton and Carsington Water.

Our campsite is also ideal for family gatherings maximum 3 units . We are 1/2 a mile off the road with no through traffic.

We except a maximum of 2 dogs per unit (they must be well behaved and kept on a lead at all times) and we allow  BBQ’s and campfires (as long as they’re off the ground and supervised at all times).

Raising the standard of Camping Pods in the Peak District!

We have two Gothic Pods that each sleep 4 people with picnic tables outside.

They are eco friendly, fully insulated, have an easy clean laminate floor and a beautiful new arch shape. There’s a fire escape in the rear window, a 4’ deep porch, twin 13amp socket, internal and external lights and an oil filled radiator. The internal dimensions are 11’ x 7’6”.

The porch is considerably larger than other pods in the market. At almost 4’ deep, you can truly relax, sit back and watch the rain come down. Insulation is provided by a 50mm layer of Rockwool and includes floor insulation. Both the door and window are UPVC double-glazed units with 5-lever security locks.

The door measures 1,700 x 710 (5’7” x 2’4”). The window is 900 x 700 (2’11” x 2’3”). Internal dimensions are 3,350 x 2,285 x 2,060 (11” x 7’6” x 6’9”). Height is from floor to ceiling.

Why Camping Pods?

  • No more packing away muddy, wet, bulky tents
  • No more putting up a tent in the pouring rain and wind
  • No more waking up in a cold damp tent
  • Option of heating and other electrical devices
  • Security and privacy with the 5-lever locks
  • Fully insulated for all year round use, try camping in the winter!

Remember to bring everything except the tent as our pods are completely empty. They have double power sockets, an oil filled radiator and lights.

We have a breathtaking view over the hills and valleys of the Derbyshire countryside, and if you’re looking for peaceful evenings listening to the sounds of the countryside under starlit skies then Ballidon Moor Farm campsite is the perfect place to stay. There is always a warm welcome from Vicki and Roger who take great pride in their little campsite.
